• Google SketchUp is a freeware 3D modeller software download filed under 3d design and made available by Google for Windows. The review for Google SketchUp has not been completed yet, but it was tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below.

The app is designed with the features of cutting sheet materials (plywood, chipboard, MDF, glass, plastics, wood panels, etc.) Lite version SketchCut. With advertising. Sketchup App

Because your SketchUp models may reside in different places, SketchUp Viewer allows you to access your models from 3D Warehouse, Trimble Connect, and the Files option on your device (third-party cloud storage services). The app enables you to open SketchUp models that are attached to email messages directly from your mail app. And you have the option to transfer files directly to the app via iTunes (iOS only) or by copying a file to the device's memory via an SD card (Android only).

To review these features and the options that each one offers, open SketchUp Viewer on your mobile device and Sign In. From the app Home screen, tap the Cloud icon () in the top right and select the cloud service you'd like to access.

3D Warehouse

• Sort () models using the following options

  • Popularity
  • Most Liked
  • Title (A-Z)
  • Title (Z-A)
  • Date (New to Old)
  • Date (Old to New)
• Filter () results to show models, collections, or both.
• Navigate collection trees using breadcrumb links. As you browse into Collections, you can tap the collection(s) name(s) in the list of 'breadcrumbs' in the gray bar above the list of SketchUp models as an easy way to go back up the collection tree.
• Use Prev/Next arrows to navigate back and forth between searches (tablets only).
• View a list of recent search phrases (phones only)

• When you sign in to 3D Warehouse, the Home screen will automatically populate with your public and private models and collections.
• You'll still need to tap the download button () to load a model from 3D Warehouse onto your device.
• When you sign out of 3D Warehouse, any models that haven't been downloaded to the device will disappear from the Home screen.
• Also note the difference between performing a search from the Home screen, which will return results for only those models that appear on the Home screen, and performing a search from the 3D Warehouse section of the app, which will search all of 3D Warehouse.

Trimble Connect

When browsing Trimble Connect, SketchUp Viewer will automatically filter the contents of your Trimble Connect account to display only folders and *.skp SketchUp files. To open a folder, simply tap the folder name.

As you browse into folders, you can tap the folder(s) name(s) in the list of breadcrumbs in the gray bar above the list of SketchUp models. This option is an easy way to go back up the folder tree.

As you're browsing, you'll have the option to sort or filter using the options listed below:

  • Folders

Once you find the 3D model you're looking for, you can tap the Download icon () to simply download the file to the Home screen, or tap the placeholder thumbnail (which looks like the SketchUp logo) to open the file viewer.

Files on Device

iOS: SketchUp Viewer directly integrates with the Files app introduced in iOS 11. With this integration, you can browse and open .skp files stored on supported third-party cloud storage services such as iCloud, Dropbox, etc, from within the SketchUp Viewer app. On the Home screen, tap on the Cloud icon () and select Files on Device. From there, you can select which cloud storage service to browse. Alternatively, you can also browse and open .skp files straight from the Files app and choose to open them with SketchUp Viewer.

Android: SketchUp Viewer integrates with Android's Storage Access Framework. With this integration, you can browse and open .skp files stored on your device's local storage and supported cloud storage services from within the SketchUp Viewer app. On the Home Screen, tap the Cloud icon () and select Files on Device to browse the device's Storage Access Framework. Opening a .skp file directly from the My Files app is not currently supported.

Opening a SketchUp file attached to an email or on Google Drive

When installed, the SketchUp Viewer app will register itself with your device's operating system as an app that is intended to be used to open files with the *.skp file extension. So anytime you're browsing apps on your device and come across a SketchUp model, whether it's attached to an email or in a folder of files in your Google Drive app, you can open and view the file.

For files on Google Drive, first tap the *.skp SketchUp file. Then select the More icon (). Next, select Open In and then SketchUp Viewer.

You can also open *.skp SketchUp files via your device's SD card. But this option is only supported on the Android version of SketchUp Viewer.

Transferring SketchUp Files via iTunes

To transfer Sketchup files via iTunes, follow these steps:

1. Launch iTunes on your computer.
2. Connect your iPad to your computer with the USB dock cable.
3. Select your iPad from the Devices list in the iTunes Library column. Then click the Apps tab.
4. Scroll to the bottom of the iTunes window to see the File Sharing area.
Apps on your iPad that support file transfers appear in the Apps list. Selecting an application's icon tells iTunes which app you want to transfer files for.
5. Click Add at the bottom of the Documents pane to find the documents you want to copy to your iPad.
6. Now click Sync to copy the documents to your iPad.
7. In your iPad, tap the *.skp SketchUp file and choose SketchUp Viewer app from the list.

Activating tools and commands with keyboard shortcuts

Using keyboard shortcuts is one of the best ways to model faster in SketchUp. When you use the R key to activate the Rectangle tool, you don't have to move your mouse cursor away from what you are drawing to a toolbar or menu. And you also don't have to stop thinking about what you are modeling to start thinking about where the Rectangle tool is.

Default keyboard shortcuts in SketchUp for Web

My Sketchup App

SketchUp for Web's default keyboard shortcuts are nearly identical to those of desktop SketchUp. If you find yourself using a tool frequently, you can simply look up its shortcut by searching in SketchUp for Web. While not every tool has a default shortcut, the shortcuts that are available are displayed with each search result.

When starting out with shortcuts, we recommend that you start by learning the ones for tools that you use the most. Here are some default shortcuts you might use frequently:

While you are using SketchUp, you can look up shortcut keys using the Search tool. For each tool or command, Search provides a brief description as well as a reminder about the assigned keyboard shortcut. If there is no shortcut for a tool you use a lot, you can set one.

There are also mouse shortcuts in SketchUp. The most important one is activating the Orbit tool by holding down the mouse scroll wheel. Learn more in Viewing a Model.

For the best experience with shortcuts in SketchUp for Web, we recommend using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Customize Shortcuts

Whether you want to add a shortcut to a tool that doesn't yet have one, or reassign a default shortcut, you can assign or modify shortcuts for any tool or command that is available in Search.

To assign a tool's shortcut, first look up the tool in Search. Then, hover over the search result and click on either the current shortcut key or the empty box that appears (when there is no shortcut for a command).

An input will appear with the prompt Set shortcut. Simply press the shortcut key (or modifier + key combinations) and your shortcut will be immediately assigned.

For the most part, you can customize the keyboard shortcuts how you like, but here are a few guidelines to help you understand what keys are (and are not) available as shortcuts.

Sketchup App Google

• In addition to using letters and some punctuation keys, you can also use Shift and Alt/Option. Neither the CTRL key (Windows) or the Command key (Mac) is available as a modifier key.
• You can't assign a number key as a shortcut without using a modifier (such as Shift, or Alt/Option).
• You can reassign default keyboard shortcuts. For example, by default, the O key is the shortcut for the Orbit tool, but you can reassign the O key to the Open, or Offset command if you like.
